History may seem distant at times, not directly touching our lives. How many people have been forgotten, how many places no longer exist? However, there are things that keep a memory of them.
Such artifacts in Tolkien’s world are the tapestries woven by Vairë. Although the immortal elves carry a vivid memory of past events, still pieces of art are created, in the weaves of which the history of the world is hidden.
Vairë links art and history, metaphorically and literally weaving them together. In this drawing, I wanted to present this act as a time of contemplation, filled with mysticism, silence, concentration …
Perhaps our own lives will be immortalized in such a beautiful way one day.
