We all know someone like her. Annoying, and disliking us (mutually), we would rather avoid her at all. Unfortunately (or maybe happily?) We don’t have a magic ring that would allow us to disappear as soon as we meet this person on the street.
What is fascinating is that Lobelia Sackville-Baggins has a different side to her. Who of us, like her, would be the first to oppose an attacker, being armed only with an umbrella? Brave not only in words but in deeds!
Do you also find it touching that Lobelia gave her estate to hobbits harmed by Saruman and her son? I depicted her with, you might say, an iconic silver spoon, but in the end, her heart showed true hobbit generosity.
That’s why I think that although we have annoying people in our lives, they should not be scorned. What if they surprise us with something good?
